The pre-sowing stage is perhaps the most important stage in the cultivation of beans. It is a process that begins in September - October where the farmer starts "chisel plowing" all the lots, in such a way so as not to modify the profile of the soil (vertical farming) to accumulate the rains from the beginning of the summer. Shortly after the natural grasses of the region sprout up, which are "dried out" with herbicides during the month of January, obtaining a "layer" of dry material that covers the entire ground.
Sowing is done directly on this layer. This is what allows to maintain soil moisture, preventing evapotranspiration and the erosion of the fields (the drops of rain do not directly hit the ground), also this ensures the suitable temperature for germination and development during the first weeks.
